Town of Dover receives Fiscal Stress Score of "0" (zero) by NYS Office of the State Comptroller

The Town of Dover was notified by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller that for the year 2022, the Town had a fiscal stress score of "0" (zero) in a scale for fiscal stress with a range from 0 to 100. 

Indicators to assess municipal fiscal stress include financial comparisons of data such as operating surplus to gross expenditures, cash as a percentage of monthly expenditures, debt services as a percentage of revenues and total fund balance as a percentage of gross expenditures (including General and Highway Funds).  

The Town's 2022 score of 0 succeeds a 2021 score of 3.3% and 2020 score of 6.7%.  Scores between 0 and 44.9%  are considered in the category of "No designation" of fiscal stress.
