Town of Dover completes long-awaited Highway Dept. Vehicle and Storage Facility

The Town of Dover has long needed additional storage for its Highway Dept. winter service vehicle and heavy equipment- so much so that $100,000 funding was allocated in the 2014 Cricket Valley Energy Center Community Benefits Agreement.

Using a combination of funding sources (Community Benefit, some ARPA COVID-19 and unexpended 2022 Highway budget funding), the Town Board secured funding and work on the project began in late November 2022.

With these vehicles and equipment stored indoors, it helps prolong the lifespan of the Town's most costly equipment, prevents weather-related breakdowns, and allows for removal of sand and salt to help keep truck bodies from accumulating excessive rust and decay.

The building was completed in March 2023.
